Postby outsider13 on Sat Nov 12, 2011 1:24 pm

HERE is a build I thought would take a couple of weeks...a 1 1/2 years ago
Started w/ 24" schwinn frame, mid 50's by serial #, beaten w/ hammer behind seat post=$5 bucks
Image
rear half of cuiser frame $5 bucks same swapmeet, same day

====equals=

Image
Image
Extra long 24" fork, threaded all the way, works for me
Image
I plan on running 24"X3" rear
Image
Image
baby bike front sprocket on the rear for a easy cruise life style..cool tread
Image
more parts to add
Image
Image
MAVIC front wheel
Image
Image
w/ truss rods
Image
SO FAR

Awesome build, I wonder why they don't make hubs like that front one for BMX bikes? I have always had problems with normal hubs grinding the spoke heads off...
It doesn't matter what I paid for it, it matters what it's WORTH. I never buy anything I will regret KEEPING.

What did the huge rear cogs come off of? I see the other bike has one too. I bet it works perfect with the exerciser chainrings.

Thats what I try to do on most of my builds mix it up =old +new + motorcycle +Hardware store + non bike related parts + anything that looks like it might fit the bike and looks cool while riding. 8) 8)

That "baby sprocket" idea is brilliant. How did you get it on there in such a way that it wouldn't spin in place?

I get a regular rear sprocket, use as a template, center it on the baby sprocket, trace it , ..now I I file it with a hand file [ while watching TV in my garage] slowly AND leaving the 3 teeth. I'll stop when I get close, and start test fitting on a spare hub part, till it fits snug on the hub part, put on the retainer ring and done    8)
