If I wanted a Schwinn, I would have bought a Schwinn!

Re: SPORTSMAN FLYER COMPANYI have purchased motorized bike parts made from this guy and they are TOP NOTCH and his service has always been documented as outstanding !! If I had the extra money I would surely have one of his frames.

Re: SPORTSMAN FLYER COMPANYNice stuff but a little pricey.
It doesn't matter what I paid for it, it matters what it's WORTH. I never buy anything I will regret KEEPING.
Re: SPORTSMAN FLYER COMPANYThose are cool!
Wake up every morning wondering what new bike I'll find!

Re: SPORTSMAN FLYER COMPANYWow, those are really cool. It's too bad that here in NYS, motorized bicycles are illegal to operate (with the exception of a small number of "approved" manufacturers, like Whizzer) and can't be used anywhere in public. There would essentially be no place I could ride something like this...
Re: SPORTSMAN FLYER COMPANYI've been perving on these things for a while now. a little pricey, but the rep is good, and everything looks to be well-finished and quality.. I've been trying to think of a good way to mount the motor-drive sprocket to the rear wheel, just for something to think about when i'm bored. Sportsman's solution is the best i've seen so far, but it still seems to be a strain on the spokes. Someone needs to make a dedicated hub for these things....
If only i had the spare cash, i'd love to build one. How do y'all think they'd perform with a rigid front end? -rob
Re: SPORTSMAN FLYER COMPANY
The 2 sportsman sprocket adapters that I have do not contact the spokes at all. I suppose there is a oportunity for the adapter to spin on the hub if not checked for tightness from time to time. I have not had any issue thus far. The adapter sure keeps everything nice and true. I have also built a couple motored bikes with rigid fork front ends and they work out just fine. Re: SPORTSMAN FLYER COMPANYslowriderz,
That's good to know re: the sprocket adaptor. Does anyone know what 200cc 4stroke is used for the racer model? rob
Re: SPORTSMAN FLYER COMPANYI have read that he used a 6.5 hp Honda clone engine for a build. Not sure that he uses that as a standard. Just sharing what I have ran across.

Re: SPORTSMAN FLYER COMPANYWhen my ship comes in Im gonna order one, or two different, or buy the company and have him be the crew chief, or.........
VERY NICE STUFF So many bikes, so little time.......
Re: SPORTSMAN FLYER COMPANYHi Guys,
Just stumbled into this thread. Thanks for all the nice comments! Here is one of my latest builds. This is a Sportsman Flyer 200 with clear powder coat so you can see the vintage style lugged and brazed construction. Engine is a 200cc Honda GX200 with all the kart racing go fast goodies. It has 15 hp and cruises comfortably at 45-50 mph. It will do 60 with current gearing. I am currently building 20 of these and have 4 others that will be pushing 22 hp and then a one-off shifter bike with three speed tranny. Thanks, Pat ![]() More Boardies by Sportsman Flyer, on Flickr ![]() Sportsman 200 by Sportsman Flyer, on Flickr
