murray monterey

Found this stuff at a scrap yard today
Its a murray monterey not sure of year

then a 26 inch mongoose disk brake rim and a shimano 3 speed internal hub rim with cable and shifter

Ive seen some of those monterey's around lately.They make great Rat canidates cuz ya mod them without messing up a rare old bike.

Nice Murray find, I see Murray's from the 90's but usually not around those years but it would be nice to find one of the tan Monterey's from then.


I know on some years the stem might have the last two numbers for the year, on my 86 it is on the head badge sticker and the numbers on the sticker above the bottom bracket like on my Monterey Christine bike the last two are 94 for 1994 same as the stem.

The sticker had said 81 before i stripped the stickers. its sitting as a bare frame right now waiting to be sanded and painted.
