Re: Mod To RockerOK. So I dug it out of the pile today. As you can see its a mess. I was comparing it to another Phillips I have and the parts removed from this one will be a great help in the restoration of the other one. Let the build off begin!

Re: Mod To Rocker: The TeardownIts on the stand ready for teardown
![]() Gonna need some Whitworth sized tools ![]() The Original Phillips headlight bracket will be utilized ![]() Also keeping the original chainring ![]() Making Progress ![]() Time to get those individual bearings out. That will happen in the next session ![]() The frame will be polished out, there is some overspray on the left stays that I hope comes off. also, I will have to buy tires and tubes. The tire and tube I was going to use for the front is dryrotted, the rear tire and tube are too wide for the frame. Its a 2.1 and just barely rubs in the frame so Im going to go with a 1.75 Cruisers are Cool, But Roadsters Rule
Re: Mod To RockerI couldn't leave it alone for today, I found a rotted 24 by 1.75 tire to try and it fits on the back so that's good to know before buying a new tire and tube. The fork I was planning to use wont fit so the stock one will stay. Basically it will have Apes, a hairpin seat, chrome chainguard, chrome pump, no fenders, stock front wheel and a 24 on the rear with a 24 by 1.75 tire. Maybe some mod parts too, have to see what Ratdaddy has in his stash. It will only be a mild custom but is still a fun alternative to all the restorations Ive been doing.

Re: Mod To RockerIve been playing with some parts today and have to change my plans a little for this bike. instead of the hairpin seat, Im going with an older white seat, white pedals, and the original white grips on apehangers. The fork and seat I had planned to use wont work on it. oh well, it will still be fun. I just have to clean and polish the parts when I get time.

Re: Mod To RockerWorkin on clearing out the garage to get workspace back. I tried a 26 by 1 3/8 wheel on the front with a 24 by 1.75 on the back. Didnt care for the way it sat so Im saving up for a set of 24 inch 80 spoke wheels right now.

Re: Mod To RockerI didnt like the 26 inch front with 24 inch rear. Motorcycles look good like that but my bike did not. I then bought a pair of matching 24 inch cruiser wheels to make them even and now I dont care for that look either. Only 24 by 1.75 tires fit in both the frame and fork but they are so much smaller than what I envisioned it would look like. Not sure where to go with it right now. I bought the wheels used and cant return them. 26 inch with really skinny tires might work but I might as well keep the stock wheels on it then. This is about the most unusual frame I have, everything is skiiny tired here.
Ideas anyone, Im kinda stuck here with this one. Cruisers are Cool, But Roadsters Rule

Re: Mod To RockerI apologize to the Angry *****, work has just consumed my life and I havent had much time for bikes. Im still not sure which way to go with this one since my initial idea wont work. I then bought a set of 24 inch 144 spoke wheels to try and dont care much for that look either. With my work like it is, chances are Im not going to be finishing this bike any time soon. So with that, I leave you with a picture of my other bike. It's a 1983 Honda CB750 on an Amen Savior frame, girder front end, Z bars and well check it out. Good luck to everyone in the build off, sorry, Im dropping out.
