Yep it is, but I don't know why my kid wears different colored socks. It seems most the girls at her school do that.

kingfish254 wrote:I assumed that the person in the multicolor socks had just landed via the parachute. Must be part of her camoflauge.

Well, she did just come in from running around the front yard with the parachute billowing out behind her. She is also the A-1 illustrator, but seems to have little interest in the illustration of bikes that are not her own. Foiled again...

They have one in KPH that is even cheaper. Look around that site. They have a lot of neat stuff.

Or maybe a floating ball toy for $3.00:

"Yep," I would answer.

My middle name just might be Jake. All I need to do is find that shifter I want to use as a chute release.

If you can find a surplus RESERVE pilot chute, reserve is the important part, they are spring loaded. (military MC4 container) you could use that to launch your drag chute out of a fabric bag. use a shifter to pull the pin on the bag. Hardest part would be finding a pilot chute affordably ( I know that is a relative term) I would be more than happy to help you with all that, just seeing it made the wheels start turning in my head on how to make that work.

Just get one of those Snake-In-A-Can gags and use it to spring load your parachute.

You going to spring load the chute? Please do.

packed parachute ready for launch... but wait!! Where are the wheelie bars to keep the front wheel somewhere near the ground? I'm liking the drag race contingency stickers too if you can find some that will fit. Most of them are kinda large.

Maybe you need a front wing mounted on the fender for some downforce to keep from poppin a wheelie.

I remember watching some skit about Weiner Dog Drag Racing and at the end, my buddy's kid said, "I wonder where they had the drag chute hidden?" :D

Thanks, schertztx, for the offer of help. However, I am not sure what I am going to do with this thing yet. I bought two for $12.00, so cheap is where I am at! Just running around the front yard with it, it seems like a simple drop it from the sissy bar may work. It packs up very small, so it won't take much of a bag to hold it. Laid out flat, it is 5' in diameter. I can roll it in a cylindrical shape about 6" long x 3" diameter. I might just make a rolled bag held with Velcro. I know one thing though, when you are running around the front yard with a small parachute and a dog is chasing you like some kind of raving, barking idiot, people driving by look at you.

I should have bought one of these though:

Kingfish, you mean one of these?

I bought that thing about 40 years ago. Now my son uses it to annoy his sisters. I was actually looking at putting a wing on the top of the sissy bar for traction like a top fuel dragster, but the sissy bar isn't tall enough and it looked stupid (at least made out of cardboard).

What!? And you have no bunny pictures on your thread? Dude, you're losing votes as we speak...er, write.

I actually have the wheelie bars in the works, mitchelangelo. I even had a kid's skateboard I was going to steal a truck and wheels off of. Then my youngest daughter swiped my skateboard. I might machine one big wheel and use it. Not sure what I am going to do with the stickers yet.

And on the fender front, I cleared the front fender only to have the paint wrinkle, so I'll sand it back down and try again in a few days. Not sure what went wrong. I think maybe my front fender has been cursed by the Rustoleum god of repainting.

)Trust me now and believe me later my friend(, I spend a lot of time experimenting with wheelie bar wheels and the skate trucks slay a single wheel in the fun department. I was turning around in the street with a heavily loosened truck.
Go ahead, steal it back!

I believe there is truth in the words you speak, JoKeR63. But also there is wisdom in the words of mitchelangelo.

Hmmm, what will the future hold? Even I don't know yet.
