AMF Skyrider

Postby Euphman06 on Sat May 19, 2012 8:08 pm

Picking this up Monday for $100 8)

I plan on selling the saddle bags and speedo on it so if anyone is interested in those parts let me know. (only way I could convince my wife to spend another $100 was to tell her I could get half that back in selling the extras)

Great looking bike, and it's ready to go as is, maybe some air in the tires.

And it's got the old Shelby Chain Ring that was handed down when CWC absorbed Shelby in 1954! That chain ring has been on a lot of bikes and I swear I've seen almost identical BMX rings similar to that as if they ripped the idea. Robert

Does that mean it's a 1954 model? I haven't seen many of these with that style tank on them in my research. Only one really with a different paint scheme. IF anyone can give me more info on this bike I'd appreciate it, thanks!

To get a better idea of year, can you read the serial number? Is it on the left dropout or under the bottom bracket? Do the dropouts face rearward, the wheel goes in from the back? That will help a lot.

The serial number is on the left dropout and the dropouts are forward facing. Looks like the number is H046709 but I haven't cleaned it yet to really see it best. It has a Komet Super hub if that helps anything.

I'm interested in the speedo and maybe the bags. How much for each and all?

Shoot, how much for the whole bike?
Keep the rubber side down!
