Jeff,

Thanks! I just love old bikes! and I don't have much $$$ in any of them, but if the economy stays in this slump much longer, I should probably jump at the chance to double my money!

Sensor,

Thanks for the input on the cabe/ ser. # project.... Will do! Happy to contribute.... Also, thanks for the warning on the stem. For now, I plan to just clean the bike up and try to get it together and rideable with correct original parts. Any thoughts on the rear wheel? Is it correct?

The correct guard for your bike is "crows beak" chainguard. Sam guard that is on the Dayton Twinflex.
Pretty spendy when they surface, you might be able to put a regular Dayton guard on it?
The guys over at the CABE ( http://www.thecabe.com ) might be able to help with what is correct.

2manybikes,

Thanks for the info. I look forward to getting this one in rideable condition. Can't wait to ride it!

best people to ask about correct parts would be either 37fleetwood(hes the resident huffman/dayton/davis expert)
or rms37 (who has tons of knowledge about classic/antique bikes)
both are members here as well as the site we mentioned
good luck!

I would guess the rear wheel to be original, I really wouldn't know for sure, but it looks period at least.

The back wheel looks correct. I have a flying ace too! Missing the fork, rack, and tank. Painted mine teal blue! what is our bike worth, anyway? paid 150.00 old antique store.
