Maybe they would look better on your bike. I might have to think about that. )Heh, heh, yeah right. Those spinners aren't going anywhere.(

Thanks man! )I bet he's not even considering it(

Way cool spinners man! After the build off you should go into production. 8) I would buy a set but, I already spent my allowance on jelly beans and baseball cards.

Thanks, but production would involve way more quickness than I can make them on a manual lathe and milling machine. I need CNC I tell you...or a Chinese connection.

Jelly beans can sway me however. They're so pretty :P

Hey, that reminds me of 4th of July fireworks!!!

Re: >>>Bratz Eliminator 20"--custom seat tag, page 40

Postby Peatbog on Sat Jun 30, 2012 5:17 pm

Thanks for the compliments.

Back when I obtained the seat for this thing, the seat tag was like this:

Image

The problem with that is the bike is indeed a rider, but it is not low at all. So I drilled out the rivets and took the seat tag off. But this left me with no tag but with two little holes in the seat. So today, because it is nearly 100 freaking degrees, I went into a partially air-conditioned shop and started milling out another. Here is a piece of .090 aluminum I am milling out. The holes have already been drilled. Once I cut the center pocket about .06 deep, I milled around the outside about .08 deep so there wouldn't be much effort in cutting it out and filing the edges.

...forgot the camera--blurry picture taken with daughter's cell phone...

Then I cut it out and filed the outside (still needs filed a bit in places) and filed radiuses on the corners, and now I have this:

Image

I need to put an arc in the tag to fit the curve of the seat yet, but here it is on the bike where it will replace the lowrider tag:

Image

I might put a word in there like a miniature license plate, or I might put a critter in there that symbolizes the power of the muscle bike or the speed of the drag bike. 8) I am also going to paint the tag and sand back off the higher border so it is shiny aluminum.

And that is the end of this post.

Old drag cars...tinted windows:

Test of tinting plexiglass with what I thought was translucent red in what would prove to be a failed attempt to produce said tinted windshield:

Uh oh! You can't see through that. :( I'll crash and burn! That worked for the headlight, but it had a light shining through it. Man, I gotta find something else...

At craft stores they use to sell a translucent paint called "stained glass paint" and it was pretty cheap (compared to automotive "candy" paint). I bought orange to convert my US corner lights on my CR-X to look like JDM lights, it worked well, but over time in sunlight it faded some, but I don't think this bike will sit out in the sun as much as a car. It also went on very smooth.

Do you have any sort of steering limiter or bump stops to keep the springer from banging up your paint at "full lock"?

Thanks, I'll have to look for that paint.

And no, there is a problem with banging the paint with the springer. I have contemplating what to do about that.

Black silicon hose (like the stuff they use for slingshots, also used in medical applications or to make stretchy things for therapy exercise) slid over the offending springer tubes would be an easy fix. That stuff comes in lots of colors. My wife is a physical therapist and they gots lots of that stuff at her work.
