Ward Hawthorne Pre War Mens Bicycle?

Hi everyone, I have this Ward Hawthorne bicycle and I'm wondering if anyone knows what model or year it is? The serial number on the bottom of the bottom bracket reads: 14-EH 11916

The '14 EH' makes it a 1941, Snyder built bike. -Adam

I've been searching for a skip tooth, and found a vintage bike that looks like this. The owner is not anxious to sell, but I need to know more about the bike to make a serious offer. I cannot turn it over to get a serial number, so I'm asking for help. It has this same distinctive sprocket, and the peaked gothic fenders. The head badge and the chain guard are gone. Any ideas on age and value? Thanks in advance for your help!
