Got pedals in yesterday, but they were used pedals, repackaged. Had fingerprints and dirt right out of the package, and the bearings were seized up on the right pedal

They said they are authentic wellgo pedals, but me thinks they are bootleg. I like the aesthetic either way, but does anyone know if you can disassemble wellgo axles? These seem like they are cast copies of pedals that would have had the ability to be disassembled originally.

Thankfully they are sending me replacements, because, the color is perfect. Got a couple reference photos.

I also swapped out the mag sprocket to a Schwinn fan vs the Rollfast with speed holes. The Rollfast sprocket just left too much open space around the bb.

They look identical to the box my square bear traps came in.

They Can be disassembled if you have the right tools one of my pedal axles came loose, I took the cage off and the rubber cap off, but didn't have any way to hold the second inner nut inside the pedal to tighten it.

I'll live with it until the wobble bothers me or the pedal falls off and I replace them.

I concur with @metalchewy , they look like the real deal. And the part# is correct on the box, as far as Wellgo pedals are concerned.

Most of all, they look killer on your build!

Quick question. Does evaporust cause a thermal reaction? Believe it or not, this is my first time using it, and I want to make sure it's not going to bubble paint on certain pieces. Thanks!

Knowing when to stop is tricky, but I'm not sure you're there yet. Can we see it with the seat in place before you axe the idea?

I understand what you mean, it’s easy to get carrried away. But something just looks very appealing with the combination of the chromed ornament and the wonderful paint fade in this photo

Got my new set in on Friday and they let me keep the old set. If you want the first set, and you're willing to go through them, I'll send them your way? You can change the cages to keep the blue.

A little hack for y'all if you are missing the grommets on your banana seat.

Get the 1/4 - 20 x 5/16 Brad hole along with a 1/4 - 20 machine screw (add a nut for safe measure) and voila!

Looking into my crystal ball...

...and the future is looking bright!
(was changing the bulb in this Art Deco lamp and just realized the finial is a miniature version of the lamp with a bare bulb).

I have an alternate, spring bracket coming in tomorrow with the hope that I can get the fork set up and functional. If needed, I will drill new mounting holes in the fork legs... but I'd rather not.

So I continue on the backside of my build. Brushed down the sissy bar, and mounted the seat at a test height, for now. I'm also realizing that the sissy bar is for a 24" or 26" frame, so I may need to swap or trim it.
