How many folks here have a backlog of bikes they'd like to build? Every time I see an exotic or really different type of bike, I get an itch to build one. So far I want to build: a wooden bike, a gravity bike, a tall bike, a flipped girls frame stretch, and now a mini velo. I've got a 24" BMX to rebuild, an 80's tandem, a ladies 700c, and a 36' CWC to rat out.

Carl.

My current list, in no particular order, is...

Wooden Bike
Hubless Wheel Bike
Prone Riding Position Bike
Indian Style Bike
Riveted Aluminium Bike
Big wheel (32 or 36 inch) Bike
...

Glen.

I cut my "list" off to 5 bikes .... could easily triple that with the amount of stuff laying around, but I refuse to make the list any longer.

No shortage of projects, just shortages of time

Dayton tandem to refurbish
36 Zep to redo
Hawthorne Duralume to either fix up or unload
40 something girls Hawthorne to shine up
41 Western Flyer to shine up
Columbia muscle bike to overhaul for my middle son
Need some kind of bike for my eldest and youngest for the summer?
I have 2 scratch built bikes on paper that I want to get a done stamp on.
89 Yamaha TW200 to rebuild for my wife
1/2 a dozen other bikes to give the once over before flipping this spring/summer

When spring arrives I'll be doing assemblies for my LBS, he warned me this year is going to be big & last year was something like 30 bikes over 2 weeks.

And that's just the bikes, nevermind everything else!!!

I have a VERY long list. I'll probably never get to all of them. I've got a dry erase board in the shop with about 8 or 10 of the ones I'm most likely to build written down. It's very satisfying when I actually get to cross one off.

Another one just got added to my list today...

Cargo Bike

Yep... my car died :banghead: I don't actually know that much about engines... but I know that banging, knocking sounds and dark smoke out the exhaust pipe is not a good thing.

Glen :(

Just found this thread, thought I'd give it a bump.

Some of my want to do projects are:

A recumbent
A velomobile
Hubless build
Sidecar build
And a pedal car.

That's just a few I'd like to build, don't know when or if but who knows.

right now i only have 2 builds in my future after my present build
- vintage style track bike
- lowrider/chopper

i do have more bikes that i could and may build. just dont know when i'll ever get around to 'em

IN THEORY;
1. 1966 Huffy eldorado Klunker with rockshox
2.Fancy road bike with a ratty vintage frame
AWAITING REBUILD TO SELL;
1. 1953 CwC
2. Electra straight 8
3. Schwinn Typhoon
4. Prewar schwinn DX?
NEED MAINTENENCE
1. Black phantom klunker
2. Hawthorne 5 bar
3. 48 B6

I have no workshop. I'll have to do these in a small suburban backyard Like I've done 44 other bikes.

My penny fakething is SO FUN! I recommend bumping that up. They don't take that long to build, and mine rejuvenated my love for riding.

I just picked this puppy up and I would like to do a road bike with it.

But, I will be doing a sort of drag bike in the purple you see below.

Yes, I still have that bike but I know someone who wants to buy it at a price I just can't say no to. Hard wood floors would look nice in the living room.

Ok first I'm not a huge James Dean fan, but I like the little b****rd concept, have a bike in the works of the same idea.

Second, is the purple concept called purple b****rd?

Cargo Bike, yeah... that's what I want to build, but it has to be different...somehow. I like taking non bike items and incorporating them.
Meanwhile, I still need to re-assemble that old Trailmate Trike
Worked yesterday on a beefy 99 Huffy Hermosa beach cruiser
Started today reno on a 77 Royce Union Mtn Bike...
and..I started a build based on an old 30s racer bike...that's just sitting.
oh, plus a half ratted Murray Monterey also, just sitting in the shed
and, 3 kids bikes to get ready for customers
Yeah, it's that bike A.D.D. thing, either that or I like getting greasy.
