Since i still need a way to power my headlight and i wanted a tail light.. I decided to pull the paint can off the back and replace it with a different paint can... :P I buffed the can up with a wire wheel to give it a little character and i stuffed a 6 volt battery inside of it that i got out...
@ Vibr8 : Thanks! I hadn't seen that page before hand. There is a ton of info!
@ Xray : I have no idea how I'd get that KW speedo to work. But i agree, that would be awesome and it could possibly set a whole new theme for this bike.
@ LocoJoe : Nice example! Thanks, I had no idea where this...
I got a few things done today. I found a bunch of miscellaneous STUFF i may or may not try to incorporate into this build. I found an old tank that 'kinda' fits. I can make it fit for sure, but i'm on the fence on whether or not i want to use it.
I also found a bucket full of random light...
That's good to know Deorman, thanks! The guy i got it from bought it brand new and he thought it may have been 70's or 80's. But from the research i did online, i could only find 'Good Vibrations' relating to the 90's and of course The Beach Boys :D
For those of you who viewed my last build. I know i'm not entirely done with that bike, but i just can't help myself. I'm going to start on another. And i'm actually going to start the thread now, that way i'll feel obligated to finish the bike  and i can get some advice and opinions ...
@ Gold Street : Thanks a lot!
@ Dr. Tank : I actually didn't like that tire at all. I was just in a hurry to swap out the rear tire one night and i was limited on supply for smoothies, so i just settled with it. But i actually like it now, especially for the price. I i'd recommend it.
Thanks!! I was going to just bolt on an antique door knob, but i thought it might not work out, 'might be too heavy or dent up the cap.. The spring probably wasn't the cleanest choice, but it accomplished functionality! :P
Ok. This is my first rat bike. I didn't really have an idea in mind but I was watching The World's Fastest Indian (if you haven't seen it, i highly recommend it!) and i found some inspiration towards what i ended up with. So i just kind of went after it! Here's what i started with:
Just an old...
I went to Interbike today and I'll be going tomorrow and friday. There was actually a pretty big section dedicated to cruisers, fixies, townies, etc.. Much bigger than last year. Lots of cool stuff!
Thanks for the help. After doing some research i found a Higgins that looked almost identical to mine but all restored and he claimed it to be a '61. That's what i was going off of. After 30 minutes of cleaning that hub i found the name JC HIGGINS with a number beneath it reading 50320, and on...
Thanks guys! This bike rides so true! It's a blast. I ws originally planning on restoring it, but i think I'm going to leave this one just as it is. That tractor is a 1928 McCormick Steel Wheel, All Original, And the Engine still turns over. :P
