Girvin Vector fork on a Worksman Newsboy frame?

Thank you. The first time I saw a picture of one of these, it looked so exotic to me, I assumed it was a one-off. It would be nice to see this style of suspension make a resurgence one day. I finally got around to taking some shots I like of the linkages... I just find this fork so striking...

Anyway, the Girvin: Well-packed... Rather like a trophy... and surprisingly light for the size. Finally! The ringy bits. I already peeled off the decals and hit it with Nevr Dull. These forks look amazing... Like a mirror, save for the scuffs. From here on out I'll post to the...

Oh well... I popped on an old 125cc engine out of a 1971 Yamaha AT1. 2 stroke, oil is separate, air-cooled, electric start. I'm going to rebuild it myself. Hope I done good!

BOARDTRACKER BOMBER XIII * FINISHED *

You have an eye for it. I never imagined a Briggs could look good on a bike. But yours looks like it's always been there. Clean, modern, and I'm really enjoying the irony of it all. If I ever use a Maytag, I'd put it on something stretched, with extra long forks! I think the big polished...

My .02: Keep the tank and nestle the headlight beneath the handlebar and above the upper linkage of the fork. Again, just my .02.

That thing looks awesome. That handlebar is perfect, and your engine turned out gorgeously. My buddy collects and rebuilds antique Maytag engines. We were toying with the idea of using one on my bike, but they weigh a ton!

My fork is showed up! Can't wait to go home!!!

Hmmm, my buddy is suggesting a Lifan engine as an alternative to Honda. Seems the most feasible yet.

I was looking at those airplane engines too... 50cc is 50cc, right? ;) I'm seriously considering buying an entire Suzuki JR50 for, eh, $400-ish and taking the engine and drivetrain off of that.

...How about this bad boy? Cobra King 50cc motorcycle cm50 ITS2 MOTOR ENGINE GILARDONI COMPLETE or the engine off of this thing? http://www.wayfair.com/Big-Toys-Wheelman-50cc-Gas-Skateboard-in-Black-WM-01_Black-BGP1184.html Ah, those skateboards have weed wacker engines... NM on that.

Girvin Vector fork on a Worksman Newsboy frame?

Well, I'd never seriously considered that sort of engine before. It makes me wonder if I want to even have to pedal it at all once it's complete. I feel like anything is possible now. I want to go all out and really build the nicest, most enduring machine I can. Something tight and light and...

Hmmmm, alright. Your suggestions are making me wonder if I should even bother with a 50cc engine at all, even if it defeats one of my aims for this project. What is your brother running? It seems more powerful than 50cc by the sound of it, although I don't have much of a point of reference.

Oh! Wow, that's crazy. Should I run it this way because it's more reliable? Or is it easier on the bike? I assume I would lose the ability to pedal the bike with the engine switched off, should I care?

Your bike is awesome! It's ironic, because I assumed a 1⅛" was a no-go. Here it seems I may have had a somewhat easier time integrating that version with the Newsboy, ha!

Girvin Vector fork on a Worksman Newsboy frame?

I figured a lot of stuff in the kits was garbage... including the engine for all I know! Ideally I would just buy the engine, and cobble together the rest of the parts I need. My own personal goal is to have this thing complete sometime in September. I figure that will give me more than enough...
