I recently picked up this interesting frame. Sorry for the poor pictures. It was reported to be a 1920-30's Mead Ranger-but certainly isn't. Check out the chain tensioners on the rear dropouts. The serial number is on the seat stay as opposed to being entered with dies on the bottom of the bottom bracket. Slight damage to the top frame bar and a small cut on the rear frame bind the bottom bracket It's still a neat frame, powder coated. The bottom bracket is 2 3/4" wide and has a 1.5" (approx.) diameter, so the traditional conversion sets won't fit, no threads on the inside. Are there any 3 piece units that would fit it? Other wise it would require a bottom bracket transplant, which I've done successfully before. What would you do? What could I do?
