  1. Bike from the Dead

    TRADITIONAL Iron & Oxygen

As someone whose gateway into the Rat Rod Bikes scene was a 1950 Schwinn DX, I look forward to seeing you breathe new life into that old Schwinn. The patina on that bike is right!
  2. Bike from the Dead

TRADITIONAL Fooligan - 1930s Elgin Oriole

Given the curviness of the frame, I feel like either the Evans Colson or the Beehive springer would be best for this bike. That black springer fork is undeniably cool, but it has more of a "1920s straight-tubed board track racer" vibe to me.
  3. Bike from the Dead

    TRADITIONAL It's SUPER ELLIOT!

I love me a good trike! Looking forward to seeing how you revive that Elliot! It's awesome to see some bikes and trikes I don't find here in the U.S.
  4. Bike from the Dead

    TRADITIONAL Olympic Punk

Can't wait to see how you convert that Evans Colson from Atompunk to Cyberpunk!
  5. Bike from the Dead

    TRADITIONAL SCHWAOLIN (Wu Tang Forever)

Can't say I know much about hip-hop and Wu-Tang, but I'm looking forward to seeing how you incorporate it into that Schwinn.
  6. Bike from the Dead

    TRADITIONAL EL PELIGROSO 💀

Captain Awesome's gonna rub some awesome on a bike! Can't wait to see this!
  7. Bike from the Dead

    TRADITIONAL Midnight Flash

Oh man, I love those Huffy Rail bikes! Always wanted one in green, purple or blue. Looking forward to seeing how you build up this one!
  8. Bike from the Dead

    TRADITIONAL Pensioner

Sounds like a plan! Those wheels and tires are going to look great on there!
  9. Bike from the Dead

    UNLIMITED Ratneck Rampage

Looking forward to seeing how the pieces go back together!
  10. Bike from the Dead

TRADITIONAL Fooligan - 1930s Elgin Oriole

Can't wait to see how you build that Elgin!
  11. Bike from the Dead

What have you been riding lately?

This, 100%! That's how it feels to finally have my childhood dream bike!
  12. Bike from the Dead

What have you been riding lately?

Rode my OCC Stingray XL around the neighborhood for a few laps this evening before it got dark and the weather got ugly. Covered the bare seat pan with a bunch of socks, mop heads and a tank top. Man I love riding this thing! Can't wait to ride it further once I get the brakes fixed!
  13. Bike from the Dead

Anybody sniffing BO 19 in the air?

Thanks. I would love to join in, but now is just not the time. I'll still be working on my bikes, I just won't be building one for the main Build Off.
  14. Bike from the Dead

Anybody sniffing BO 19 in the air?

After looking over my collection of bikes and thinking it over, I've decided not to enter the Build Off this year, at least until further notice. I have plenty of bikes I could build, but... 1. I don't have a plan for most of them. 2. I'm not ready to work on the bikes I do have a plan for. 3...
  15. Bike from the Dead

Bike from the Dead's Freshly-Exhumed Finds (Everything I've dug up since 6/15/21)

Thank you! I just wish we had swap meets like this in or near Tulsa, Oklahoma. If I want to hit a good bicycle swap meet, I have to drive roughly 3 hours away from home, and out-of-state.

Bike from the Dead's Freshly-Exhumed Finds (Everything I've dug up since 6/15/21)

Cool! I wasn't sure when Snyder stopped building bikes, so it's cool to know that! I bought it from the original owner, and he said he got it brand new in either 1969 or 1970, so that's right on the money. Funny thing I've noticed: certain distributors seemed to favor certain manufacturers...
  17. Bike from the Dead

Bike from the Dead's Freshly-Exhumed Finds (Everything I've dug up since 6/15/21)

Thanks! This bike's already fun to race around on with a single speed, so I can only imagine how much more fun it'd be with additional gears! I still remember the first time I saw one of these StingRays when I was a kid. One of my brother's neighborhood friends, Tyler, had one of the regular...
  18. Bike from the Dead

Bike from the Dead's Freshly-Exhumed Finds (Everything I've dug up since 6/15/21)

Last but not least, here are all 3 semi-complete bikes I got for free at Haysville. The first two are this AMF Western Flyer Sonic Flyer girls' bike and AMF Skyrider men's bike. I got both of them for headset and bottom bracket parts for another AMF bike I'm working on, but both could turn into...
  19. Bike from the Dead

Bike from the Dead's Freshly-Exhumed Finds (Everything I've dug up since 6/15/21)

Now for all the frames I picked up from Haysville. First is this 20 inch AMF bike I pulled from the free pile, sort of last-minute. I got it for the headset and bottom bracket hardware to use on another bike, but I may either build up this frame or just put it back in the free pile next year...
