    Removing Stuck Seatpost

Drilled a hole and put a big wrench on it. No luck. I'll take it to the bike shop when I have my next set of wheels trued and give them a challenge.

    TRADITIONAL 🅵🅾🅾🅻🅸🅶🅰🅽 - 1930s Elgin Oriole

Looks like something from Mad Max. There's another sequel coming out, Furiosa, later this year. I can't wait.

TRADITIONAL Boredom To Boardtrack JC Higgins Beehive Springer or Monark Silverking Springer?

I think Hawthorne frame headtubes had holes on the side for the badge, and Rollfast had them top and bottom.

That's prewar, same dropouts. Restrictions on manufacture began in early 1942. You had to submit a request to buy a new bike. A Hawthorne is the same frame, sold by Wards, but made by Snyder who also made Rollfast.

I was going to say stretch out the beehive too, but the curvature of the Evansaction follows the curve of the downtube nicely, so it gets my vote.

    Blue Tiger

Finally I'm going to finish up the Blue Tiger. I have a couple extra coaster hubs that I ordered recently. The previous hubs were good, so I ordered a couple more before they went back to being bad. I've got 2.40 blue tires from another build. The rear wheel will be a coaster now. Just a...

    TRADITIONAL Pensioner

I think I have just the right metal for the droput extensions. I never trimmed the heavy steel plate I used for the kitchen chair on my previous build, Lazy Boy. I pulled up a pic to see how much I could trim off and see it's more than enough and still be good to mount the chair seat. I should...

    TRADITIONAL Pensioner

Yes that's a band brake, fairly common over here on the bikes used for work. They get a lot more usage from these when using the vending carts or hauling junk. Calipers wear out fast with daily use. I didn't know SA made them, everything I can get here is Japan or China made. They work fine...

Anybody sniffing BO 19 in the air?

Looks just like the fork I got for the 1901 Mixte.

    TRADITIONAL Pensioner

Removed the rear brake bosses, mixed some paint to match the old green, added some splat and laid it out to get an idea of angles and what is needed. Clear over the touchup tomorrow. The patchwork should match up better with clear. I was trying to keep the length short, but it...

TRADITIONAL Boredom To Boardtrack JC Higgins Beehive Springer or Monark Silverking Springer?

Shipping from here would be way too much and not reliable. Using a flat rate box in the states will keep the shipping cost around 30 bucks. I'll take a pic and put them in the buy/sell section. I'm just looking for bike parts that could be shipped to Hawaii the same way. Red band hubs, mag chain...

    TRADITIONAL Pensioner

Got both 3" tires on the rims. I'm going to have one cable after all, for the front band brake. I like the big chrome disc. And if the chain comes off I still have brakes. I looked through photos of splatter paint and was going to sand it down and go with a tan background and brighter colors...

TRADITIONAL Boredom To Boardtrack JC Higgins Beehive Springer or Monark Silverking Springer?

That's a pretty good start to put it mildly. Your frame is just like my 42 Hawthorne, made by Snyder. The serial number on the BB has the year and place it was made, in reverse. Mine was 24 EH, Michigan City, Indiana 1942. 14 SN would be Little Falls, NY 1941. I don't have that bike but I have...

    TRADITIONAL Pensioner

I got some work done even though the heat index was still too high. Most of my work (if you can call it that) will be done between 7 and 9 in the morning. Last look before I tore it apart: The rear will need dropout extensions to fit the 3" tire. I can also lower the rear at the same time. I...

    TRADITIONAL Pensioner

This is my entry in the traditional category. I'm upgrading an old build to make it more suitable for a retiree, or pensioner, or just plain old senior citizen. It's a BMX style bike now, but I'll add a springer fork and cruiser bars. It'll get this set of 57mm wheels with 26 x 3.0 tires I...

    Show Your Muscle Bikes

Now I think it is a W in the serial number, even though I haven't found any info on that. Because the headbadge was attached by the maker, Huffy, not Western Auto who sold those bikes. Like Sears and other brands, they had nothing to do with the manufacture, the bikes showed up complete from the...

    3 Freshies

All AMF made bikes, first is around 65, and the last two are 70's. Came new with the brake lever backwards! I've never seen that.
