26 x 1.90 tire compatible with 26 x 1 3/8 wheel?

Sup guys, I may sound stupid asking this but...

Would a 26 x 1.90 tire fit on a wheel that originally came with 26 x 1 3/8 tires? Would it take a lot of work fitting the tire on the wheel or is it impossible?

In tyres fractions and decimals don't mix - measured by different methods.

nope, won't fit. thats what i had on my rat bike i just built. was going to stay with the original rims and order my tires the 26x 1 3/8 but something is wrong with the rear wheel so i put on a set of regular 26's w/ the 1.90's and it is a tight fit so make sure your rims are true. it brought the bike down a little too as the old 26's are taller.
