I went to school on this one, but that was the goal. I took a 1982 Team Fuji garage sale bike and stripped everything off. Took the frame down to bare steel with a stainless wire wheel on a grinder and treated it with Boeshield T-9. That was the easy part. I converted it to a riser bar, futzed around with the freehub, replaced the headset and bottom bracket put it all back together after shining and greasing everything and put it up for sale locally..... nothing.
I recently bought a donor bike for the dura-ace brakes and specialized wheels and sold everything else (Argon 18). Put the brakes on MY Fuji Roubaix and converted the Team Fuji to a single speed.
If she doesn't sell (too small for me) I'm gonna hang her on my wall.

It was my daughter's garage sale bike, this is how I received it:

While I was cleaning and degreases parts I took the grinder to it.

She finished out my first attempt like this:

Pretty bad. But by this time I had learned a lot about wrenching on road bikes.
I ditched the saddle, bars, derailleurs and wheels and just finished up with what you see in the first post.
