TRADITIONAL 🅵🅾🅾🅻🅸🅶🅰🅽 - 1930s Elgin Oriole

I've loved these sexy curvy 1930s Elgin Orioles ever since @yeshoney did his amazing "Paint It Black" build back in BO7 in 2012. I scored this one back in 2016 and it's been in my stash ever since.

I really don't have any build plan yet, but it will come to me as I pull stash parts out and the build tells me what it wants to be. This will be my 14th Build Off in a row. It's always great to get back together with all of you this time of year.

My current placeholder name is Fooligan in homage to our lost brother karfer67 aka Adam Hooligan Copeland.

Did a light scrub to get rid of some of the multi year layers of dirt grease and dust.

I remember now that this was rough when I received it. The seller snapped the handlebar stem in half inside the fork and didn't even mention it. Also the nondrive side crank arm had been welded on crooked at some time. I had forgotten that the frame had the grease fittings

Got to try out my dewalt portable work table i found on fb marketplace for twenty bucks. This thing turned out to be awesome for bike work super easy to apply clamps to secure the work. As I cut off the welded crank and broke loose the bb and fork nuts, I also took some pics of how beautiful my Queenfish workshop area is this year. She had her courtyard on a Hidden Gardens tour a couple of weeks ago with over 1200 tourists roaming through.

I'm happy with the outcome of day 1. End result is a semi cleaned frame only that I can now experiment with.

No, they are original. You can see on on the headtube as well. There are a few bikes back then that had these. I agree about the grease going all over inside thought.
