Oxalic acid?

Is OA safe on all metals? I know it supposedly is not good for cad plate. Should spokes be okay? My spokes are fine but I want to soak a whole wheel without disassembling (other than removing axles, bearings, brake parts, etc)

Are thay cad or stainless? If cad, it may turn them a darker color, charcoal to black. I always take the wheels apart. You could take one out and try soaking an inch to see what happens.

Regarding the Hydochloric Acid mentioned on page 1, it is, well, ACID in caps, for sure!
You should suit up, HD rubber gloves, goggles and a breather!
The warnings on the container are NOT suggestions.
Even the fumes can rot your blue jeans (dont ask.....).

Oxalic, not Hydrochloric. And the spokes are not stainless but not sure if they are cad. I might just try barkeepers friend with enough water to make it a paste, to avoid getting the spokes. But I really want to try OA on this bike , might still do the fenders with it.
