Greetings all! I just recently rescued a Miss Buzz Western Flyer from the trash....it's covered in more rust than I know what to do with, but the WD40 seams to be helping me with that. Anyone know if you can get rust off paint without having to strip the paint? Is it possible, or should I just strip it and have fun painting it what my heart desires??

Second, I want so badly to design my own seat...where do I start? (It has the original 70's vintage flower print banana seat!)

Can you tell this is my first project? Any suggestions??

 SUPER STOKED!!!

Nice find! I am not to sure about saving the paint. My thought on that would be to use a plastic scouring pad and use WD40 like you have been doing then see how it turns out. The plastic shouldn't scratch the remaining paint. If you don't like how it turns out strip it and paint to your choosing. For the seat there is a how to on that here http://ratrodbikes.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=866 and also if you have any questions on seat recovering I would ask Firewalker I am sure he would be able to help here is a link to the seats he has done http://ratrodbikes.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=2&t=1829&p=42395&hilit=+seats#p42395 Hope this helps a little.

Hello

ya...... doing seats can be lots of fun! all you need is a plan and you are good to go!

if you have any questions feel free to ask. I plan on starting a new thread for a seat I'm about to start for another member here. It will be good for you to follow along.

I think I'll post it in the build section. Watch for it soon.
