I have been on a bit of a hiatus from anything creative for a year just trying to get all my stuff organized as well as other things
I want to try to do a build that is inspired by many of the extreme rat styled hot rods since this is the year of the rat
had the idea for a while and slowly been gathering the most appropriate parts
just dont know which frame it will all be attached to and i cant even decide which name to go with mad ratter or hack rat
good thing I have till September

*from left to right
Schwinn torpedo tube fork but appears to have been bent past original location
which should give that nice lowered stance
24" monark truss rods
schwinn dx900 seat post
prewar drilled chainguard
24" schwinn crank (may go to 20" if i need ground clearance for pedal power)
ladies prewar long spring seat
26" rattrap springer (fork only)
evans 26" squared rear fender
26" red rim with morrow coaster

You always pull together some fun goodies to make a cool rat. Welcome back.

Dig where this is goin !!

I had to take extra time to go thru and find which frame in my stash would work best with the parts i have collected
looks like this shelby built western flyer is my best option
and here it is in the 1st phase of the mock up

I took the spring off the rattrap and will be using it to stretch out and lower the bike
so now my rat bike has a rat tail
you can see in this photo where i plan on attaching it to the frame

on a side note Innova tire brought back their 20 x 3 slick tire in black and white wall
I was able to get a few and put one on my build off bike from build off 10
so here is Junk Crafted Higgins with the new tire right b4 taking it on a 12 mile ride wit the rat rod riders b/c

That slick tire is , well, slick! That's a 20 x 3 ? On a 26 er frame? Long and lowwww.

Cool design for your build.
Great BO10 flashback. The slick looks great. I had forgotten that you used a Dahon folder crank/spider on that build. Way cool.

a while back when helping clean out my aunts garage I came across these and i have had them saved for a project like this

originally i didnt know what they went to
but recently i discovered what they go to
any one care to guess what these are from

this is how it will look partially attached to the fork
still needs a bit of modifying
