It's all good! So nothing this year grab'd your GooGoo GaaGaa GeeGee :p

Didn't afend me much really anyway's, I've got some pretty thick skin by now.

Maybe you should Vote for your least Favorite bike outta the bunch? :smug:

it was a block of wood. her favorite color was Makita blue so she put the sticker from one of my battery chargers on it and nailed my tool belt to it so she could carry water and rocks and a frog or whatever chapstick probably

that ride turned out to be a lot longer than I thought it would be and I wound up with here on the tandem. I couldn't understand why it was getting harder and harder to pedal the closer I got to the end of the ride. The fender started rubbing on the rear tire after about a mile

I love your daughter's bike. You are inspiring her. My best bike memories always include my Dad. We have had some really great times riding, fixing, buying, and selling bikes. He always says, "Hey, that's a NICE bike!" That is the highest praise I look for when I am building something custom.

Let me start by apologizing to any and all I offended. 1st to Steve the site owner who had to deal with my poo in the pot, and 2nd to ALL the participants. And of course 3rd to those that gave me a good beating. We all make mistakes and I made a big one. Similar to sending an email you should not have and wish you could have taken it back. I was poorly crafted and did not belong anywhere in the voting thread. Also, for all those who finished, particularly 1st time builders, you all should be proud of yourselves for finishing, as few can put a bike together to begin with. Hopefully this heals some wounds and encourages even more participation on this site this upcoming winter. Peace.
That takes a pair!

This shows a lot of character. :41:

Probably more than I would in the same situation.

Just voted, waited til the end

Even more than any particular bike, I like the spirit of particiation here at RRB, and that people DO to their level of ability, as skills and tooling permit.

This is an interesting thread! I both get @SILVERKINGPC 's comment(s) AND people's reactions to it. There is "some" validity to everything said.

i do want to encourage everyone to do their best work (always) and "failing forward" is a win in my book!

Compete with yourself, and compete with no-one! (but strive to improve, I bet many enjoy playing at the edge of their skill set)

I have enjoyed the contest, completion and comparison! Off to vote for class2 (where my build is )!

Good stuff!!!

I often refer to forward failing and learning experiences when I'm teaching

I thought it was a classy looking bike... must be the skinny tires that didn't go over well.
I kinda thought the same. But having limited time to order new ones and not wanting to spend more on a third set it was either run skinny tires or butcher the frame trying to fit the fatties in it which probably would have put me into class 2. Actually I just sold the build off bike to my friend from work and you can catch a glimpse of it at the end of the video. He dared me to take the fat bike through the park so I did then told him to take the beach cruiser. He chickened out though.

I say go ahead and remove them, starting with the one that set this whole thing off. It was completely contrary to what the spirit of this Forum is all about, in my estimation, according to the guidelines and underlying 'moral code' that is prevalent herein.

Agreed! First time builder here and had no real care of the competition part or comparing my build to others. Truly joined to have fun and do something new and had a blast. The positivity in the threads were refreshing in the wake of Covid and all the political bs on both sides. This was a great escape. Everyone are entitled to their opinions but personally feel it’s best to keep things positive. PMA
