I was looking to purchase a Wald #8069 to replace a 1970s Schwinn Stingray handlebars. Does anyone know if these Wald bars are a close match to the original ones. Thanks.

They seem very very close to the '70 and on version. From what I can see from pics they have a very slight v shape. My original Stingray bars seem to be more straight. It is hard to tell without them next to each other.

The Schwinn bars actually varied a bit. Here's a pic of a set of 1970 bars next to a set of 1973 bars. The 1970 set is more straight. The 1973 is more v-shaped.

I think the Walds fall between the 2 different Schwinn styles. One thing nice about the Wald bars is they have a bit more length on top so you can easily use a bar shifter.

That set on the left is the standard Stingray style the ones on the right were for the Krate both offered in '73
