Riding this mostly, though a few others are getting use currently. Gonna hit some dirt on the Big Orange Machine tomorow, most likely.
New seatpost and new/used saddle, legit treads on the way and a bombproof wheelset in the works. About to head out to ride it on this Supreme Colorado Spring Day.

What year is it? I bought one new in 1969. It was under $2000. Four dollars would fill the tank from fumes to overflowing. Mine was the same color, didn’t show the dirt so you never had to wash it.
It’s a 1974. It’s got 80,000 miles on it, and it drives really well! I’ve wanted one since I was a kid.
Still going. It's a joy to ride so why not. Exploring all the aftermath of the massive storms we had yesterday and last night. Tons of puddles to bomb and many trees, branches and other debris
That wind/rain was crazy wasn’t it? It did make the ground nice and soft for ripping out shrubs today though......[emoji1787]

It was crazy. We had a big branch just miss the house
It flushed out the critters as well. Spent the bike ride dodging caterpillars, snails, and turtles
Using an old pic since I didn't stop...13.7 miles in 58 minutes on high plains singletracks while cruising this booger. Opening and closing a couple of gates slowed me down a bit, as did getting spun out on a few downhill sections.
74, but I’m pretty sure it’s the 74.5 so kinda? I’m still learning, this is my first vw.

Brother that's a cool bike.
Haven't seen that frame around here before.
But Id ride it for sure, I like the laid back riding position the best.
