Rode the ‘84 Schwinn I have been working on - new bars, stem, saddle, pedals, S2 rims and a set of Fat Franks. Fast and fun!
Also a couple pics of how I found it.😩

2007 Schwinn Select Collegiate One - 20 inch wheels - 7 speed
I pulled this out of the dungeon yesterday, aired up the tires and took it for a short ride. So strange. The handlebar/stem is bent and the tiny seat is bent and torn so those all need replacing. The tires are odd too. A wide rounded groove down the middle has you riding on two lines of treads. It rolls okay but needs a full tune up. It's too short for me. Would fit someone under 5' tall. 140mm cranks (5.5"). I found nothing on the www on this bike. I did find info on the 26" one speed version. Hard to call this a child's bike as it would bee too long for kid arms to reach the bars. So what to do with it?

My Romet Wigry 3 now has its winter boots on and a saddle that came from a kids bike I bought back in the summer - as did the offroad tires.

These are the original wheels that came with this bike, and for a Romet made way back in 1991 they have very little corrosion. The kids bike came with a nice pair of aluminium rimmed, 36-spoke wheels and good road tires, and I am rebuilding the rear with a coaster brake hub in it as summer wheels - these offroad tires are great for trail riding in the wet, but once the ground dries there is nothing to absorb the vibrations other than your wrists.

It folds easily and I don't even need to fold the rear seats down to get it in the car.

Rode several of the bikes from my fleet this past week.

The ‘39 Supreme got a new front wheel
with a 100mm SA drum brake hub. I bought a new old stock Japanese Shimano 7 speed nexus coaster hub on fleabay recently and will get the rear wheel sorted when it arrives.
