Chad T, as a former tennis player on teams in the early 70's, our togs were that color; not bright white but Wimbledon White. The shorts in this picture were "team issue" Wimbledon white; the shirts were not. And...I can't believe I just posted a pic of ten-nis guys (me in foreground, brother in back) on ten speeds in BO-ten....

Great pic..:D..those 10 speed Schwinns are awesome!

Pic.was shortly after we got the bikes. This would be our transportation to and from tennis practise and summer rec (where we assisted with the kids). About a 9 mile round trip, the first and last mile on our country gravel road.

Some updates:
I have been getting a bunch of parts in and trying to complete the look. As I said in my first post I am going for a drag look so I want a big and little tire. The front is a 700C road bike wheel/tire combo and the rear is a cheap cruiser tire that has an old school pie-crust looking sidewall and a flatter surface. It's no Jerald Sulky but it will work for now.

Quick mock up before primer. The forks and bars will be changed but you get an idea.

Pulled apart and on my tried and true bunford 9000 frame sprayer jig ;)

It is primed and will be painted tomorrow. I have what I hope will be a very cool color planned out so stay tuned!
I really like the rear fender.

As of an hour ago, ALL my pieces are painted!! I am just waiting on the rear fender to cure before I mount it as it is an EXTREMELY tight fit.
I pulled the sprocket from the tandem and swapped it on after painting the crank crinkle black. I use the VHT brand as it always lays out great and is tough. Just give it lots of dry time.

This sprocket was definitely the right choice.

I got the chainguard painted and mounted as well. I took a page from a member on here and did a two-tone paint job with the second color being on the inside for a unique look and really trick detail. Race red baby!

The rear fender has the same paint treatment as well.
Once the guard was on I started thinking about details to add and came up with a fitting decal from a big COMP Cams sticker I had. Little cutting and boom!

Not perfect but still cool

Getting close!!

Today I got to do a test ride on the bike and it was oh-so-sweet! I got the wheel on and luckily it cleared the fender while staying tight to the tire. I then slapped on my full black chain and realized I was only a seat and pedals from a rider. Just for fun I threw on my road bike seat with the diamond pattern and took it for a spin. It rides great and feels like a GSXR with the seating position. It wasn't uncomfortable but we will see how the banana seat compares. So far very happy with this bike and can't wait to finish it!

Looks great! I kind of like the road bike seat, looks fast. Can you give us a shot from the front so we can see those split bars again....:113: Something very classy and expensive, rich looking, about this build..nice!

I appreciate that! When it is "done" I will take a bunch of close up shots of details and stuff.

Said it before, I never knew a Westport guard could look so cool!!!!!
When I first saw that rider shot, SPEED just came to mind. That thing looks like a rocket about to take off.
I liked the nanner, but I think you may want to keep the roadie saddle.

Much appreciated! I still plan to chop up the seat bar tomorrow for the nanner and see how it looks but this roadie seat will be tough to beat!
