Krylon candy apple red paint.

Anybody here tried this paint? I would think the color would depend on the primer.
Looking for the old metallic red like the old 60's bikes and old Honda 350's

Picked up a can of it, shot a light coat over gray primer. It's not gloss, needed a top coat, layed on about three coats of clear lacquer.
Even though the cap on the can looks pinkish, it's as close to the metallic red color I wanted as I've seen in a spray can.
Going to see how tough it is after a few days on my test part.

I need to color sand it and shoot 2 more light coats of clear...that would look really nice.

Did ya'all know that most automotive paint supply stores can mix you up a spray can of just about any color they got? And, it ain't much more than your average can of spray paint...

If you want a dark, deep candy red color, spray it over metallic gold. The more coats of red and clear coat you apply, the deeper the candy will look

Really nice color. Might not sand the color, if theres metallic flakes in it you may end up with silver flecks if you sand thru the paint into the flake. These look pretty small. Shoot the clear and sand that.
