Still a work in progress. I painted it 'Hammered Black'. Restored the 1950's seat. Made the wood seat post and grips from oak. white rims and white brick treads to come!

Hope this is close enough. Will put better pics up tomorrow. Bought a piece of 1 1/4" Oak dowel. Drilled a 7/8" hole in center about 5" deep. Grips are oversized for looks. Approx. 8" long. Then took out the old trusty pocket knife and went to town on the pointed end. Alot of sanding and some two part epoxy gloss finished it off. Same for seat post in which I used a 1" oak dowel. Couldn't find a seat post wide enough for the frame but small at the seat end for this seat. So oak it is.

Great job on the grips and seat post. I did an oak dowel seat post once.....along with the seat and the rest of the bike frame.

That's an AWESOME build CMAN. Nice job. Still got it? How's it holding up?

I donated it to the Boise Bike Project for them to sell. BBP is the local bike coop.
