Schwinn Varsity makeover

I like to keep one skinny tire light weight in the stable..I sold my 64 Schwinn Traveler this summer, but then I found this clean Varsity at our city wide garage sales this summer. its been sitting and I decided to give it some attention. here it is when I bought her

I started with updating the brakes to a modern more powerful dual pivot set up

then I got rid of the drop bars and added a straight bar

put on a Brooks and I like it

As a flatland bike they are not bad. But as soon as you hit the hills you will feel the weight of it. But in all enjoy the ride. Are those steel rims? You might want to get some alloy rims. Alloys stop better in the wet then the steelies.

Nice bike..I have a old world sport converted to a single speed...had a set of 700cc rims...nice ride.

Very nice,I like your upgrades . I am doing the same type mods on an old Schwinn too,mine is not as pretty as yours.
