    1965 CCM. Pashley Guv'nor knockoff.

It started as a parts bike, but I decided to build it up and model it after the Pashley Guv'nor. It has 28" wheels, a Bendix 2-speed kickback hub, Brooks leather hand grips and Brooks B67 saddle.

    Fed up with Sturmey-Archer.

I have a bike build that has stalled to a halt because I can't find an S.A. XF-D front hub anywhere. Everyone is out of stock. I contacted Sturmey Archer to see when they will be sending more to their suppliers and I got this automated response: "There is currently only one person in the US to...

    Has anyone tried Snowbiking?

I rented one of these at Keystone ski resort in Colorado last week and it was an absolute blast. I'll never go back to skis again. The cool thing about Keystone is that they let you bring home-built ski bikes on their slopes as well. I may do a build. On skis, I never did anything more than a...

He is now northbound and down on his way to meet his maker. No smokies on his tail this time.

    Clear coat problems

Every time I spray clear coat I have problems. The latest bike was painted with spray enamel paint then left to dry for several weeks. I sprayed clear gloss enamel over it and the quality is awful. It is glossy in some areas and a matte finish in other areas. I switched to a different brand and...

    Lost in translation.

I bought an item from a seller in Italy over a month ago. I sent money, got no response, finally opened a Paypal dispute. The seller's business partner immediately responds and says that the lady I was in contact with (Paola) was in a car accident and is in bad shape. She said she would make...

Ohio inmate says he's too fat to be executed.

He raped and murdered two young women and claims that he's too fat for the executioners to find his veins and administer lethal injection. http://news.yahoo.com/s/ap/20080804/ap_on_re_us/death_penalty_cooey Hmmm..."The Mercy Seat" by Nick Cave and the Bad Seeds comes to mind.

    Creepy courtroom video.

I saw this on TV yesterday and it really gave me the creeps. From the extent of his injuries, it's amazing that the guy could even walk. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XHiV4aIAazU

    Anyone else with high cholesterol?

I got a reading of 268 and I'm pretty bummed about it. Could this mean no more juicy steaks and cheesecake? Yes...I believe so. On the bright side, beer doesn't contain grease or saturated fat so that's still okay to enjoy.

I'm singing the Dead Lawnmower blues.

I bought a brand new Lawn Boy mower 2 summers ago and the thing has been in the shop twice already and it just broke again. Fresh gas, clean oil, clean air filter, new spark plug...still won't start. My previous Lawn Boy was a 1978 model that provided 28 solid years of service. What happened to...

    Tornado outbreak predicted tomorrow

Those of us from Oklahoma to Iowa need to batten down the hatches tomorrow. Sounds like it's going to be nasty. I've never seen a warning given this far in advance. http://www2.ljworld.com/news/2008/jun/0 ... _thursday/

    Crazy dangerous walking path.

Check out the video below of a decrepit crumbling cliff-side path in El Chorro, Spain. The guy who took the video must be suicidal because he's not even tied-in with a tether line. The Spanish government closed this path to the public in 2000 due to several tourist deaths but people still find...
