196? Foremost Find

Traded my 'goose for this one the other day. Anybody ever heard of Foremost?
Gonna go flat black, red rims, leather saddle, grips, whitewalls, the usual treatment.

Nice bike.
I have a girls Foremost and assumed it was sold by JC Penneys because it had what looked to be the original tires that were Penneys brand.
Of course I could be totally wrong.

That's realy cool. I have a blue one that was my grandmothers. I'd love to know more information on this piece. Have you found any additional info since your last posting?

Information on my bike is Penneys Foremost. Tire info: Foremost Custom, made in the u.s.a., 26 x 1.75 nylon. Written on the Brake plate is Komes Super. And toward the left side rear tire mount is stamped: M05 11X24 158054

That has the same rear dropouts and chaingaurd as my 1960 Murray jet fire.

I think the MO in the serial # means Murray. On oldroads.com they have 2 pics of Foremost bikes and one is just like a Spaceliner. :mrgreen:

I have a Murry Skybolt with the same kind of chainguard and framestyle. Great bike you got there! Nice original paint!

Yeah the MO means Murray Ohio where they were made.
