1969 Schwinn Typhoon king sized Stingray Clone - new stuff!

got this for $100 at a flea market in Clayton Georgia a few weeks ago.
its in pieces in the first photo cuz it was right when we got it home.
2 bikes, 2 dogs and 3 people in a honda CRV.

the chrome on it is really amazing.
1 ding in the front fender.
S7 26" rims. bendix red band coaster in back.
has schwinn S7 tires, but i dont think they are original.
i love the schwinn green!

i wanted to go ahead and clean it up.....i threw a regular sized seat on it.
i think the one on it was from an exercise bike. thang is huge!

in the next couple weeks i am going to be converting this bike into a muscle bike.
like a stingray, only much larger.

my sparkle green banana seat, 48" sissy bars, and large ape hangers are coming soon.
will update as soon as they arrive.

cleaned up real nice.

right on!! You can use that front fender on the rear for a cool muscle-ish look :wink: :wink:

Cool I was hoping to see the Typhoon you mentioned in the other post! Where is that flea market again?....lol I think everyone is going to be hitting it up! Can't wait to see this project!

here it is, kinda finished. i really am not pleased with the green color of the seat. it doesnt match the frame.

That looks great! Can I suggest using a white seat instead of trying to match the frame color? Other than that, it's perfect!

What about swapping seats between the BFK and the Typhoon, then adding green accents to the BFK? that would be pretty sick...

i added some huge apes to it this morning.
i used a bmx type stem.
this thing is huge now!
