I had posted this bike in my intro a week or two ago. I got this brand new in 1982 from a shop in Cockeysville, Maryland. I didn't change out much, but you can see some parts are not original. I pulled it out of my storage garage a few weeks ago. It had been in my parents basement until they moved to Florida when I moved it to my storage about 8 years ago. I didn't have time to deal with it then, so it sat. Here it is right after being pulled out:

I've been trying to get it back to as close to stock as I can. So far since I started working on it I got a few nice things for it and cleaned it up a bit...

The seat is a Kashimax Super Pro from 1981. This is the exact seat as the "good" Mongoose Pro Suede, the model number on the underside is the same as the Pro Suede. There was a Pro Suede made by Viscount, but I had been reading the Kashimax is more desireable... I was toying with the idea of having it recovered in black suede and having the gold "Mongoose" applied, but I'm thinking it is best left alone.

The seat post came from a old bike shop around me (they still had the Mongoose Authorized Dealer sign in their back room from the late 70's). It has a few dings on the part that is in the frame, but is definitely correct era.

The grips are NOS A'ME (was told from 80's and are Made in USA).. I like them but I just scored some original red 1981 Mongoose grips (not the repro ones) and I'm waiting for them to get here.

Pedals are KKT Lightning from 82/83, I bought them new back in the day, but I got a pair of Rat Traps that I was told were from a '80 Team Goose.. I haven't put them on yet.

Also waiting on a few more genuine parts to get here (seat post clamp, brake levers, brake cables).

WOW!!!!!!!!!!Looks GREAT!!!!!!

A bit more progress... I got a genuine seat post clamp (was told from an '81 Supergoose) and I put some "riding around" tires on it. I want to keep the original Mongoose tires from getting damaged. Also, it now has genuine Mongoose red grips (not repops).
