There's a lot of $99 bikes with free shipping now. All of them I've checked are scams.
This was a $99 bike for the recipient:
Why some of us are here, or at least a partial reason is to not have to pay good money for a pile of junk, or get scammed. I'd much rather ride the above bike, than a $200 newjank "bike".

$99 dollar bikes are just small parts bundle deals with a bonus set of wheels.
Plus the chrome is usually so bad it'll develop a vintage patina by 3PM to match the bike you're putting them on.
Then the frame goes to support your local urban miner.

Not a fan of cables. It'll probably end up as a coaster brake townie with ISO 559 wheels because I have about eight extra sets of 26ers in the shed now. That frame was made for ISO 590 wheels, but the tire selection there is anemic, at best.
