Hello from Muscle Bike land. I'm putting together a project and I'm thinking of using a 24" front wheel for a 26/24 offset kind of bike... like a 20/16 or a 24/20 would look in a smaller version. So I thought a 24 x 1.5 rim, if I can find one, would still give a thin look, but have a smaller diameter. I don't want to use a 24 x 1-3/8 because I think the diameter would look too close to a 26 x 1.75 rim. My question: What's the thinnest tire you've seen available for that size rim? I found a Schwalbe 24 x 1.5, but I thought that might still be too fat? Is there such a thing as a 24 x 1.0 and I just haven't found it? Is there a 24 x 1.0 rim?

I'm asking you guys because I know there are 24 inch racing BMX bikes, so I thought this may provide an answer.

Check this out. Google this: Panaracer Pasela Tire 24 x 1
Cut and paste it. I tried to put the link here but web root blocks navigation.

Any idea what size width of 24" rim that would wrap around?
This tire fits on 24" (ISO 520) rims most often found on Terry brand bicycles. It is not compatible with BMX/Kids 24" (ISO 507), 24" (ISO 540) tires or Schwinn 24" (ISO 547) tires.
I found this number for getting a rim. Velocity USA (800-453-6126).
Terry Bicycles carries a variety of 24″ (520) tires/tubes which can be found here.
Your local bike dealer can order 520 tires/tubes from Quality Bicycle Products, 800-346-0004 (wholesale only).

Here is a list of some 24″ tires that are available:
Panaracer Pasela 25-250
Terry Tellus 32-520
Schwalbe Durano 23-520

Interesting. But I'm wondering if the "juice" is going to be worth that "squeeze". Meaning, is the diameter of an ISO 520 that much different than the others. Looks like a 507 would be smaller, but also wider. So I don't know what that would look like.

Some things I'll have to chew on. Thank you very much for the info!!
