4 speed nexus

i have a line on a nexus 4 speed hub,i know they are discountiued,this one doesnt have the shifter,anyone know if ther is another one tha will work? thans AJ :?:

That is going to be tough. I wonder if the 7speed revo shifter would work. They were very similar hubs.

Friction is an option but can damage the hub if you are not in the exact gear.

I GOT THE SAME PROBLEM I HAVE A NOS 4 SPEED ALSO I THINK IM GOING TO SELL IT TO MUCH TROUBLE

I don't know the specifics, like cable throw for each gear but.....
Nobody has tried a rapid fire 8 speed shifter???

I just looked in my stash of shifters and only had an Inter 3 cable but I do have an Inter 4 on one of my bikes that I can measure the pull on
Later today. That said I don't know if these come in different ratios but I had to go to a pretty small chain ring to get a range that I could tolerate on my commute to work. Look at the end pages of this post.

I had a Nexus 4. It came with a 36 tooth Chainring.

I've got a metal thumb style shifter sitting on my shelf, my LBS has a plastic revo twist grip shifter hanging on his shifter stash wall though.
