70's KIA KMX project.

My plan for this bike is for it to be black and gold. Black from with gold wheels and fenders. Some of the other parts will be gold but I will figure that out as I go along.

Sorry for the poor image and background clutter. This is the 1st mock up. Had to use different forks because the old ones were hosed and the neck was fused in them. Seat is from Ginny @ Rini Enterprises (R.I.P.). The neck bars and wheels are from a NEXT girls bike. Looking for a set of cottered cranks too.

Here is an over due update. I have blasted the forks and have the bike tore down for paint and powder coat.

Here are a few pics of the new Shimano BB I bought for it.

As of now I am going to paint the frame orange and powder coat the forks, bars and seat post and sissy bar black. I am also contemplating getting black or orange Skyways for it. We'll see.

I am changing it up a bit and going with some vintage Lester mags. Not sure if I will just clean them up and put them on like this? Or maybe try and paint them black and leave some of the metal unpainted in strategic spots.

I also worked on creating a new bracket for the seat I got since it's not an original seat. The bracket is a little more complete than this photo shows. I will post another later.

Welded together the new bracket and painted it. Just need to drill some holes to mount it to the sissy bar.

Did some more work on it this weekend. Got some parts powder coated and painted first coat of paint on the frame. I need to sand out some blemishes and get a second coat on there and wet sand it a bit.

Worked on forks lastnight. Stencil I made out of vinyl then masked up ready to paint.

Here it is assembled minus a few odds and ends. I need a chain and the crank arm bolts. I am also going to put a number plate on it and to clean up the wheels some more.
