Should I put a motor on it?

I posted this bike a few months back kind of in a mock up form. I had pretty much abandoned the project because of some personal problems I had to resolve. Well, in the last week, I decided it would be a good idea to get started on it. Honestly, I finished this thing a lot faster than I anticipated.

So I had a thrown away 80s Huffy Good Vibrations, a thrown away 70s Schwinn Continental??, some old Nishiki fork and all of the old parts I've refused to get rid of. I figured I had enough to build a bike from scratch, and I was right.

It's done to the point of being rideable, and I took a few timeline photos. I'm definitely not done with it, and my plan is to put a motor on it, so I'll try to remember to post progress as it comes.

The pictures are taken at night as I just finished it. I'll take post some tomorrow of it in daylight. The last photo is of my step son who was brave enough to mount a bike bigger than he was.

I named it the "Honest Rat". Here it is.

General info
Front wheel - 27" x 1 1/4
Rear wheel - 26" x 2.25
Gear - 44x16

I like it!
My vote will always be to not put a motor on, I just like knowing that I am the power source for the bike!
But that is just for me and does not take into consideration what you think or need...

Luke.

Added a few things to make the ride more "comfortable". Went for a ride with the wife and took some pictures.

So far just the front hub needed a smidge of adjustment after maybe 15 miles on it. Debating on lubing the chain or leaving it dry and rusty brown.

Also, can anybody give me some insight on how to service these integrated kickstands found on all the old bikes?

nice bike! i always vote no motor unless it really ressemble a vintage board track racer , but thats just me

So I've done a few little things. I cut the bars and plugged the holes with some corks. I've also added a front fender and rear rack. Mainly because I just wanted to put more parts on it. The front fender matches the overall feeling of the bike, and the fender does not (in my opinion). The color is from a very sporadic friend who "painted" some parts, which ended up at my house. I'm going to sand it down and bring back a scratched up version of the old paint. Pretty sure it was white. I also threw a set of bags on the rack that I acquired when I used to build Walmart bikes. Cargo options are usually high on my list of needs.

I haven't riden it yet, it's raining outside. I hate rain. I'm pretty sure the shorter bars will be a positive change.

My phone is pretty much my only media generator, so sorry for grainy pictures.
