A Monark Type II Fork, a post-war DX frame and the wobblies

Hey all. I have been building up a street going klunker, and installed some of the new Monark Type II forks on it to get the right look and comfort I was looking for. I think it looks great, but the handling is just... bad. I mean, it's impossible to ride it no-hands, and sharp turns are more exciting than they should be. I hate to ditch them, but this bike is ultimately for my daughter, and the will simply not fly in their current config.

Any ideas on improving the ride of these forks with the post-war DX frame?

I use the monarch fork also and it is a faster steering fork.
you could make your own dropouts that have more trail built into them, meaning move the axle mount farther forward.
Or trade me for a traditional horizontal springer.....
Ps: if by any chance this is on a new shiwinn from wally land, nothing will fix it. I literally gave my wifes Roxy away after I rode it.

I can't be much help from here, and this is not what you want to hear, but this is why I don't jack around with springers.
