That stripped down nicely. I think the Evans plays well with the tank, but it's kinda hard to tell without wheels. If your going for patina on the bike, the chrome may throw it off, unless there is some other chrome. Really hard to say at this point. One thing is you have some slick parts to play with. I am certain the end result will Rockit!

personally I think it gives the front a heavy look as of right now
you should to run a large rear tire or some skirts guards to even it out
just my two pennies

I guess the only other springer option that would fit is a sears rat trap
you can always use a standard fork or you could find someone willing to trade that evanaction for a CCM flyte fork

Hey look I finally worked on the bike some more......

On the frame, tank, and fork I decided to go with a gun blued finish. It will match the chain guard and fenders I found pretty well. I used Birchwood Casey "Super Blue". You may remember from the stripping that I left a little of the old patina that I found under then paint intact. It shows through the blued finish and looks pretty cool.



There is a LOT of brass on this frame. They slung it everywhere....




After bluing and steel wool I sealed it up with some boiled linseed oil.




The pictures don't do it justice at all. This finish is SICK. I'm a happy man :mrgreen:

Your gum bluing came out great!
I really like seeing the patina and brass underneath
I've been waiting, since the last build off, to see someone use bluing
You definitely ratcheted it up several notches 8)

Usually when you purchase it it's "boiled". It shortens the drying time. It works great because it polymerizes into a solid form :wink:

Truely gorgeous finish.....really captures the original era of the bike. 8)
