My first build in this group...

Excited to get started!

Without letting the cat outta the bag, here’s a teaser just to show that it’s really only a frame (& fork) at this point. I did get a stem, bars, post and seat on it last night. I’ll be picking away at it until it’s done but hoping to get it completed soon so I can start riding it now that the good weather has shown up here.

Progress! Looks like I may have finished early (that’s what she said!) in my excitement to get this show, er bike, on the road...

Started with a recent NOS F/F purchase. It’s a limited run Skull Skates. I believe 2011(?). All chromoly, manufactured for Skull Skates by Norco. So it’s a light, quality frame.

Had 60% of the parts already so it was just a matter of sourcing the wheels, seat, and brakes.

Thanks to my buddy Vince for help with the wrench, and my pals at Ride On Bikes for tweaking the brakes and truing the wheels.

Took it for a few test runs this week, ended up with 100km on the odometer. Needless to say, it rides great.

These are the progress pics!

After getting all the parts together, it was assembled in pretty much one fell swoop.

I actually had to purchase an entire MacNeil cruiser to poach the wheels, buy the brakes off of another bike guy on CL, and buy a suede Turbo seat I’d been eyeing for a year from the LBS. Oh, and I found the white walls at a used bike store for $12. The rest of the parts, including decals, I already had. Of course, those took a few years of hunting to accumulate.

It just took a build-off for the inspiration/motivation to do this project.

There’s a local cruiser ride going down this Sunday and I’m stoked the bike is ready!

Where did you find the shark bites I tried to find a set everywhere

I bought them on eBay a few years ago. Can’t remember who from. They’ve been sitting on a shelf for over two years waiting for the right build.

Shame we didn't get to see the progression of the build. Turned out nice though.
