I wanted to post some pics of my bamboo SS project now that its been on the road for a while. After chopping the tubes and some rough mitering,I built a "jig" to fine tune and tack the joints

after about 100 miles of commuting,no problems so far. Alot of people claim ambient temp changes are the death of these bikes, but ive ridden in 95 degrees, and 50 degrees with no problems. Im trying to get the word out, I'd like to start building these to sell.

Very cool. I wanted to try that. Where did you source the bamboo? Did you treat it?

I contacted Bamboo Habitat,a company in Pa. that specializes in all things bamboo. They actually have poles preselected for bikes, already kiln dried ready to roll.If you decided to give it a shot,I highly recommend them.I called, talked to the owner himself,he was very interested in the project, and went out of his way to make sure I got the proper poles.
