They are old . By now the 24v battery is worn out. The motor is outdated brush type motor. Could get expensive in the long run.
ah yes, didn't know the history. By today's standard it's junk, $100 is fair. With that said, it's got just enough stretch you could replace the outdated electrics with modern stuff, you can get a rear wheel kit for about $300 and they make battery packs about that shape/size with modern lithium/manganese cells too. The brakes wouldn't stop anything faster than 24volt though...
