“Change is easy, but improvement far more difficult.” – Dr. Ferry Porsche

Shimano 5-speed Click Stick recalibrated to handle a Sturmey-Archer SX-RK3 3-speed (w/180mm rear disk) the Click Stick’s 1 and 2 speed were locked-out in order to use 3,4 and 5 as the S-A’s 1,2 and 3-speed

The seat stay was used as the mounting point for the shifter because I didn’t want to drill into the bike’s frame; it’s just too cool a frame to do that to it.

Just too cool for school!
Thank you, CRASH; she's a blast to ride and I received several thumbs-up from the general public when I was on the test rides dialing-in the shifter's indexing measurements.

You and all of our fellow Rats inspire confidence in that if we think we can do it, we will, once we figure out a way to get it done! :)

And thank you too, kingfish!

Brief update: rerouted the Click-Stick shifter cable on order to reduce cable housing tension.

Design of the rear disk brake caliper mount is near completion; it is a cantilevered design due to the limited space between the seat and chain stays.

She's done!

It only took nine-years to complete!

I own two 2005 Manta-Rays, one which I'm using for parts on other bikes and extra parts for the first one I bought that had a messed up fork on it. What I want to do is take the back wheel and tire off the one I'm using for parts and put it in front. Only thing is, I need the right fork for the conversion.

I thought about putting spacers in-between the springer fork yolk and the fork tubes and the same for the part where the spring is so that the tire will fit. I've also thought about using a chopper fork as well. Haven't decided yet. Would look cool with the same four and a quarter inch tires in front and back. Any ideas, suggestions, etc., would be appreciated. Really do like what you have done with your Manta. Very cool.

Unfortunately, the problem with putting a bigger tire in front where there was a 16 inch tire is that a longer kickstand is always needed. Already been through that twice with two of my late year Stingrays that I've modified.

The seat on your 2006 looks different. More square in the front and a different shape, too. Hmmm, just don't know for sure on these things. I keep noticing more and more as I look at your Manta, like the checkered flag valve stem caps that you painted black. Pretty cool.

I changed the handle bars on my Manta, didn't like the originals, they made my hands and arms feel too cramped, or like, too close together. But I'm thinking I like your handlebars better, along with those nice headlights. As you can see, I had a tall sissy bar with built-in shocks made for it.
