Fattest tires for 26" rim?

3" will work as long as it is ISO 559. Only one I have around here at the moment is 20" but 26" works. Here's the 20"

I put 26 x 3.0 Duros on my Dyno. New it came with 26 x 2.125. It was a close fit. Different tires with the same size may have slight width differences so it's best to check using your bike. Your chain line is another consideration for clearance. You can flip the chainwheel and/or cog to get a little extra space, if they are concave. I did that to my Emory to get stop the chain rub, used a different chainring with the 24 x 3.0 Nirve tires.

The only Electra I have is a steel three-bar (Eric Malone) that has a pretty huge distance between the stays. From what I've measured, it should be able to take a 3" wide tire with chainguard on. However, it has 1.5" tires on it now...but I'm putting 2.4" tires on it tomorrow..

Those tires look great on that Dyno.
