Re: FINISHED MY MONGOOSE BEAST TODAY

Personally....PERSONALLY! I don't like the tires and bars, the white striped tires kill it for me, and the bars just don't fit the "Beast" style bike, makes it look like a wanna be vintage/antique bike, but you like it and thats all that matters. BTW I noticed that you cut off the chaingaurd mount....nice. :D

Re: FINISHED MY MONGOOSE BEAST TODAY

I think I've answered the tire question 20 times now.

Wish I could stock them on my online store. :D

Re: FINISHED MY MONGOOSE BEAST TODAY

You definitely threw down the gauntlet by cutting off the chainguard mount. Now I will feel guilty if I don't remove mine. :D

Ha ha haaa, just put the link in your signature.

Re: FINISHED MY MONGOOSE BEAST TODAY

The chainguard tabs were definitely removed rat rod style.

Just took my channel locks and bent them back and forth until they broke off and then used my file to grind down what was left.

I didn't have any bondo to smooth it out so if you look hard enough you can still see signs of them being there.

At least your valve stems are not crooked.

I like this rendition alot better.

That's what ya get for being so cool. When I hang out with Mike and Frank, one of them is about to EXPLODE after so many questions. It's funny, yet uncomfortable at the same time.

Glad to know I already have the right tool for the job. ;)

I'll do the best I can with a file/stone, too, and then hope for the matte finish to hide the rest of the lumpiness.

Looks sharp, Steve!

Re: FINISHED MY MONGOOSE BEAST TODAY

Steve Steve Steve ... I think your slipping. You didn't even try to line up the valve stems with tire logo or psi recommendation did you ? That's something I would expect from Wal-mart but not from you :|

Right, and he didn't even unlace/relace the wheel so he could align the label on the hub with the valve stem hole.

Hmmm? Could this be the First $1000.00 FatRod Beast on Ebay?

If I sent to someone else the down tube would probably get scratched up.

Here's the pricing on everything on the bike...

Mongoose Beast = $199
Sunlite Crusher Tires = $100
Cruiser Bars = $20
ODI Mushroom Grips = $10
3G Cross Pedals = $59
Gyes Leather Saddle = $85
Layback Seat Post = $25
Painting Supplies = $10
----------------------------------
Total = $508

Now...those are the prices if joe public went out and bought them all. A few of the parts were purchased by me at a dealer's rate so I really have about $393 invested in this bike.
