has anyone heard of this or seen it? I thought it was way cool.

Would be a great idea for a repro. Hmmmm, maybe a new winter project. Gotta work out that springer rear though!
I do have an extra Sturmey that would go good with it.

That American Rambler bike has a cool look to it. That springed rearend could really set off an old Ratbike. Keep us posted if you go with a project using it.

Growing up in a railroad town during the 60s, I saw a few versions of those railriders. The railroad guys used them to go from the yards done to the main town for dinner, booze and very likely women. I went to kindergarten right across from the depot and there was usually one there. Wish I had one of them!
