I was at the Wethersfield CT Bike Festival today looking to sell a few things and well this thing followed me home. I was really just looking to grab a fork and some wheels for my Columbia, but hey sometimes you just need another whole bike. I've got a few plans, getting the headlight working, doing a little overall maintenance and maybe a few little add-ons.

Yea, the forks on that usually fetch 125-175 a set. You did well.
I don't know if it'd be a late as a '57 but the serial is under the crank bracket.
 
I think 57 because they had rear facing dropouts as late as 56. I don't recognize the chain wheel, and a dogleg crank would be an earlier bike.
But anyway, a flatbar CWC with a shockmaster springer can't go wrong. Here's a 57 Luxury Liner, looks like the same frame and chain guard:
