help with Identification

Hi
I am new to bikes and have my 1st one .
according to the number on the bottom it was made by schwinn 12/21/1949 and has a Cadillac head badge.
I was soda blasting it today and came across this graphic.the bike appears to have been black and white.

Looks like you've already ID'd it. Chicago Cycle Supply Co. was a private label vendor for Schwinn. Great find!

well I was going to paint it gold
now I'm going to have to go back with black and white. I hate to see it go any other way since its so old.
On a side note I was in a bike shop today and saw a two tone brown schwinn (new) with the same graphic as my 49

How does one get the paint detail like the ones on these tubes? Are those decals or done with a stencil?

Those graphics are usually only found on the DX frame. (top bars both curved) Your frame is a B model frame (lower top bar straight) and usually had the more deluxe paint job with diamond shaped darts on the front. I've never seen one like yours. You learn something new everyday on this forum. Gary
